I wanted something I can use for walking around town or on city breaks, but that would also work for shorter runs when I am away on holiday - hate taking an extra pair of runners when I travel! Saw these on Instagram and nearly got them previously, but I was nervous buying shoes online without trying them. But I got the chance in Berlin, and they were every bit as comfortable as I hoped. I’ll be getting others soon!

Looking for a sneaker that is machine washable and still won't lose its shape? Good news: all our shoes are machine washable. To prepare, remove the laces and insoles, place your Allbirds in a laundry bag (pro tip: pillowcases are also a good alternative) and throw them in the washing machine. Choose a delicate cycle with cold water and your favorite gentle detergent. Don't put your shoes in the dryer after washing, but shake out the excess water and let them air dry. Do your shoes need a little more care? Then simply get a pair of new laces and insoles.

Ich habe sädie Schuhe behalten aber sind nich so komfortabel, obwohl ich meiner Größe 44 bestellt habe drücken sie meine Füße sehr, der astoff zieht Fusel und ich muss öfter mit der Börste die Fusel entfernen.

Hatte schon den normalen Tree Runner, mir gefällt diese Passform aber deutlich besser und bin bislang super zufrieden.

Sobald einem jemand auf die Füße steigt oder wie in meinem Fall das staubige Kinderwagenrad den weißen Schuh berührt bleibt der Fleck. Mehrmaliges Waschen, Gallseife, Soda, Fleckenteufel. Der Fleck bleibt. Das Material hat alle Reinigungsversuche ausgehalten aber der Fleck bleibt. (Vielleicht haben wir auch sehr hartnäckigen Staub - wer weiß :))
Gibt es vielleicht spezielle Reinigungsmittel?

I really wanted to love these shoes. I bought the Tree Runners in black from the Allbirds store in Seoul on September 4th, 2025, right before a two-week trip to Japan. The idea of a lightweight, breathable, and travel-friendly shoe sounded perfect.
Unfortunately, after just two weeks of regular walking and sightseeing, they already look very worn. The black color faded noticeably — especially on the tongue — the heel area is scuffed and worn down, and in two spots the fabric has torn. I also found them less breathable than advertised, and they caused some rubbing around the heel.
I took good care of them during the trip, so I was really surprised to see this level of wear after such a short time. For a product marketed as ideal for travel, I expected better durability and comfort.
I’ve attached photos that show the condition after two weeks of use. I hope Allbirds takes this kind of feedback seriously, because I truly liked the concept of the shoes and would love to see the quality improved.
